Merry Christmas
Oh, please don’t tell me that it is time to write another Christmas letter……..not that I don’t love Christmas time, I do, but I don’t like the idea that another year has passed. We’ve been promising to “SLOW DOWN” here at the farm…………so maybe this year’s letter will be a lot shorter than normal. That would be a perfect judge of how well we are accomplishing our goal.
I always enjoy writing these updates because it is fun to remember how the year went. I’m hoping that it looks pretty positive when I get finished with my reflections. Now, let me think about 2015………
All I can remember about last January, February, and March………..was COLD, COLD, COLD and SNOW, SNOW, and SNOW. I was truly ready to move south. The only positive thing that I could find was that we won some more beautiful ribbons from the Scottsdale Arabian Show Photo Contest. I became more and more determined to cut down on the number of horses that we had…………I just couldn’t stand to see Donald struggling to take care of all of them in this horrendous cold and snow.
March finally arrived and I was so hoping for green grass,
crocuses and a warm sun………..but, here is our annual photo
of Donald flying his kite on March 2:
Is spring ever coming?????? Oh, my, it must finally be spring as a new baby arrived, not a foal, but a puppy. After losing Shelby this past winter………it was time to welcome a new family member. This is Rylee, an amazing puppy that we got from Randy Stoneback. And now, we were busy all the time………..so much for winter!!!
Because, it’s that best time of the year………..finally spring and with the puppy came “MARE WATCHING”………..foaling time here at the farm:
And SHOWTIME!!!!! Shows start in May and we were out in full force with Juliette and Samantha Kaber, Romeo and Randy Stoneback, and Bucky and Sandy Young. What fun!!
Summer did finally come (Thank you, God) and the fun continued……….showing, babies growing, puppy growing, flowers growing, horses selling (boo hoo)………and so it went. Congratulations to the people who bought some of our precious horses:
Melvin Morgan bought Noah. What a wonderful couple! Noah now lives in Florida.
The LaBold’s who bought Nya (and love her to pieces!) And are also the new owners of my precious, California. I’m so happy that she is doing well for them.
Melody, the palomino filly, is over in Polk, PA and is owned by Veronica Gharing.
Soleil is happily living down in Kentucky with her new owners Mary Peterson and Shauna Branham.
More of the wonderful Summertime……….look at my “Cricket”………it fits in my horse trailer. Donald’s flowers:
And summer turns into…………..Fall!!!!
And then into Winter……again!
What fun when Ashley and TJ came for a visit…………..nice time for us.
Now, it’s Christmas time again……….. Happy Times and Sad Times…………… I think more happy times than sad!!! Hope you all enjoyed this little trip through our year. I sure do enjoy reflecting on the year. Donald and I are both still going strong. The winter, so far, is much better than the last couple years …………. And Donald is so happy that there aren’t as many horses down at the barn this year………… our puppy is finally growing up some and not quite so time consuming as before, all is well here at Whispering Hill Farm!!!!!

May God bless our friends. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Year!!!!
