Well, time for another Christmas letter…………….. you know I could just stop here and say “Merry Christmas” and hopefully a better “New Year’” and be done with my letter. I sure don’t have a lot of “good stuff” to share, but I can’t leave you off without a brief summary of something from this year. Can I?
2020
On May 2, Donald and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary ………. With only each other to share our joy and memories, but we did have each other.
On June 12, we had our only foal of the year………..we were planning on 4 but ended up with just one (that I thought was a boy for a couple hours……….. Mistake, a gorgeous filly!!! )
The day we got out of “lockdown”, we got invited to a private visit to Faller’s Furniture and got a new couch and loveseat. We wanted to get a new freezer, but none of the stores had any in stock and weren’t getting any for 3 or 4 months………….by then I forgot about wanting a freezer.
Well, the rest of the year, Donald and I stayed home, still got up at 6:30 AM, don’t know why. Ordered groceries on line to avoid going into any stores. Ordered some “take out” food, especially fish on Friday night…………..and waited for the COVID-19 vaccine.
No horse shows, no going out to eat with friends or even with each other, no shopping binges, and no visits with family and friends…………but we still have each other, still have our family and friends to talk to on the phone or through email, still have the Good Lord watching over us (and even an online mass every Sunday………….) and that makes it all OK!!
Hoping all of you are feeling blessed and looking forward to what 2021 brings…………. May it be more of what was our “NORMAL”.
Love to everyone,
Donald and Donna
